Tuomas Siitonen is an architect and designer whose practice bridges building, teaching and research. He holds an M.Sc. in Architecture from the Helsinki University of Technology and an M.A. in Graphic Design from the Helsinki University of Art and Design.

Tuomas founded Tuomas Siitonen Office in Helsinki in 2010. His practice is working for mostly private clients with a focus on spatial clarity and sustainable solutions. Since 2019, he has also been a partner in Kombo, an exhibition design firm, collaborating with multidisciplinary team for museums and other public clients.

In addition to his practice, Tuomas is actively engaged in architectural education. He serves in the Chair of Architectural Principles and Theory at Aalto University’s Department of Architecture and regularly gives lectures and leads workshops. In 2018, Aalto students recognized his contributions with the Teacher of the Year Award. For the 2025-26 academic year, he is a Virginia Architecture Fellow and Assistant Professor at the UVA School of Architecture.

Tuomas's current research focuses on the future of architectural pedagogy, exploring how it can foster ecological awareness, material intelligence, and new systemic approaches and methods for sustainable design education.

At UVA, he continues to develop a hands-on, inclusive, and reflective design culture that prepares students to engage creatively and responsibly with the ecological and cultural challenges of contemporary architecture.
