Biography

Tom is an architectural designer and educator with interests in strategies for dignified affordable housing and the climate implications of building lifespans. He has worked in the New York offices of ARCHITECTUREFIRM and PellOverton Architects. Tom earned his Master of Architecture from the UVA School of Architecture in 2023 with a graduate certificate in Urban Design. While a graduate student, he supported faculty research projects on collective housing and design-build for a community space. Tom was also an instructor assistant for a wide range of courses including design studios, a structures course, and seminars in both architectural theory and urban design. Before returning to school for his graduate degree, Tom worked in advertising and higher education marketing. He joins the faculty at the A-School teaching in architecture and urban design.
