Biography

Lyle Solla-Yates joined the School of Architecture as Software Platforms and Technology Lead in 2019. He manages software for public machines and faculty, both physical and virtual, over 180 software titles. He previously worked at the global nonprofit Nature Conservancy, first managing technology across Virginia and West Virginia, focusing on new tools to manage computers, land, staff and volunteer time, controlled burns, travel, wetland rehabilitation credits, and conferences. Lyle then managed worldwide software contracts, procurement, budgeting, and management across 36+ countries saving many millions of donor dollars. He serves as Vice Chair of the Charlottesville Planning Commission, researches the history of exclusionary zoning and related tools, and is raising a baby with his wife Katherine.
