Biography

Dr. Cindy Kiefer is a proud native of Virginia and a first-generation college graduate who has dedicated four decades to advancing student success in higher education. She is recognized for her student-centered approach and commitment to transparency, authenticity, and honoring the unique aspirations of every student.

As Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Kiefer provides strategic leadership and vision for all student-facing, non-academic operations. She serves on the Dean’s Executive Team and leads a dedicated Student Affairs team committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and empowering environment throughout the student experience. 

Dr. Kiefer earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Christopher Newport University, a Master of Education in Educational Policy, Planning, and Leadership from the College of William and Mary, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. 

Throughout her career, Dr. Kiefer has been a passionate advocate for students encouraging them to pursue their goals with confidence and resilience.
