The Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost honors excellence in teaching, recognizing professors who have consistently enabled their students in their journeys of self-discovery and academic success. The School of Architecture’s Phoebe Crisman, Associate Professor of Architecture, was recently awarded an All-University Teaching Award, for her exceptional teaching and the impact she has made on her many students. Crisman’s students describe their experiences in her classes as transformative – “not just because she makes possible academic achievement but inner growth ethically and even spiritually.” Crisman founded a Global Sustainability program that attracts students from across the University, helping to explore architectural concepts as they relate to contemporary issues of the environment.
Crisman describes teaching as “a learning adventure” and hopes to “inspire a love of both theoretical and practical exploration.”
The entire School of Architecture congratulates Phoebe on this well-deserved honor.
