    Abstract

    Architecture 7210 is a graduate course investigating the influence of time-varying loads such as wind and earthquakes on structural and architectural design. The course includes fundamentals of structural vibrations, plus the physical principles underlying wind flow and seismic phenomena, and their influence at the scale of the region, city, site, building, and details. The course makes extensive use of three dimensional computer-based structural analysis in understanding dynamic phenomena and their interaction with static loads due to gravity.
