The information in this site documents the answers to this question as gathered from various national, state and some local sources.

This information was assembled as part of the Hazard Identification Phase of the Hazard Mitigation Planning process being undertaken by TJPDC during 2004-2005 .

Graduate students in the Urban and Environmental Planning Program at the University of Virginia performed much of this research and local map generation. Nichole Gilkeson, Lory Pendergraph and Leigh Rosen, students in PLAC 513 Applied Geographic Information Systems for Planning under the direction of Prof. David L. Phillips, gathered this information and created this site.
