What is Peak Ground Acceleration

FEMA uses the indicator of PGA (%g) to show the probability of earthquakes in the U.S.

The national map of Peak Ground Acceleration (%g) indicates that the TJPDC area has a PGA rate of 3-4%g. FEMA states that in areas with a PGA of more than 2 %g a risk assessment study should be conducted.
