Minors

There are five minor programs available at the School of Architecture. These are in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban and Environmental Planning, Architectural History, and Historic Preservation. The requirements for these minors vary by department. Please see the Academics section for more details. Approval must be obtained by the student’s current major advisor and also the director/advisor of the minor.

Students not enrolled in the School of Architecture are allowed to minor in one of the five architectural minors. Similarly, students within the School of Architecture can receive minors from departments in other schools of the University. Students wishing to receive a minor from a different University of Virginia school should speak with their advisor and the head of the department in which they wish to minor.
