    Overview

    This document presents images and observations gathered during a visit to Pompeii, from May 28 to June 9, 1997. The visit was part of the June work session of the Pompeii Forum team, including John Dobbins. Larry Ball, Bill Westfall, Mark Schimmenti, Jamie Cooper, Karim Hanna, and Reuben Rainey.

    The discussion focuses on the four buildings on the east side of the Forum: the Macellum, the Imperial Cult Building (ICB), the Sanctuary of the Genius of Augustus (SGA), and the Eumachia Building, with particular attention to the Macellum and the SGA. There is also a brief discussion of the Temple of Jupiter and the Basilica in relation to these buildings.

    A database of photographs taken during the summer 1997 visit is currently in development.
