University of Virginia: School of Architecture

The National Park Services Artist- in- Residence program offers opportunities for visual artists, photographers, sculptors, performers, writers, composers, and craft artists to live and work in the national parks. Today artists are working in more than 40 units of the National Park Service through Artist-in-Residence programs—using their talents to bring the sights and stories of the parks. Professor Ford has been selected as one of the 2011 Artists for residency in Petrified Forest National Park. His project is a new version of the classic book of park architecture, Albert Good’s 1938 Park and Recreation Structures.
