Craig Barton, Chair of the Department of Architecture, has been selected as a recipient of a 2010-11 Professors as Writers (PAW) Writing Grant.
The Teaching Resource Center offers the Professors as Writers (PAW) Program to support U.Va. faculty in their academic and professional writing.
Through workshops, grants for editorial or coaching support, and resources and support for writing groups, PAW aims to address writing challenges both new and old—including those posed by the changing nature of academic publishing in the twenty-first century as well as the very practical challenges to writing often experienced by those who write, think, and teach for a living.
Writing Grants of up to $1000 are available annually for ten to fifteen successful faculty applicants. These one-time only grants will provide aid to UVa faculty members facing the often difficult challenges of scholarly writing at any stages of their careers.
