Roots of Music – A new cultural condenser
12 week project
The notions behind the design of this facility are to develop an infrastructure for a city held by music but diminished of its population. The size of the site first posed the questions of scale, hence a strategy of stitching landscape and built infrastructure was adopted. This helped in establishing spaces scaled to human use. The program of the music school is a precursor to series of other functions that will help make this as a new cultural center for post–Katrina New Orleans.
