Personal Statement

Kimberly Wong is the Assistant Director of Operations and Alumni Relations at the UVa School of Architecture Foundation and oversees the annual fund, event planning and alumni relations for the School. She graduated from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts in 2002 with a BA in Biopsychology. After moving back home to New York City, Kim decided to leave the science world and begin a career in event planning and donor relations. Kim worked in a small event planning company named, Nixon Richman and Co, where it was just her and her boss brainstorming ideas, organizing, publicizing and executing large black-tie, gala fundraisers for various New York City not-for-profit organizations. Kim moved to Charlottesville in the beginning of 2008 and thoroughly enjoys continuing her work in non-profit development and event planning.
