On October 6th, thousands of alumni, students and faculty came to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of the University of Virginia. Alongside memorable many performances, the A-School launched its own festivities with the design, fabrication and installation of the Lumina pavilion that glowed brightly on the lawn against the backdrop of Old Cabel Hall. We also had our inaugural ‘micro-celebration’ that evening within our new home, Pavilion VI, with 400 of our A-School alumni family and friends. Highlights of the weekend included a knockout pecha kucha by 22 faculty presenting the tremendous ongoing design work, research and teaching happening at the School and a spectacular Dean’s Forum dinner at the home of Jim and Bruce Murray. What a weekend!!
