Howland Fellow to Travel to Zambia
Allegra Churchill was named the recipient of the 2009 Benjamin C. Howland Traveling Fellowship this morning by Kristina Hill, Director of the Program in Landscape Architecture. The fellowship is awarded annually in a competitive process which invites applicants to propose projects which will further their professional careers in the field.
Churchchill will travel to Zambia, Africa to document changes in the relationships between local residents and a river that has been altered by dams and will produce a report on these conditions for The Nature Conservancy’s Zambia office. During the current academic year, Churchill is working with The Nature Conservancy as part of the School’s Public Fellowship Program.
An exhibit of Churchill’s work at the School will be planned for spring, 2010.
