Emeritus Professor Co-Authors Book on Suburban Park Design

Reuben M. Rainey, William Stone Weedon Professor Emeritus, has co-authored a new book, Modern Public Gardens: Robert Royston and the Suburban Park, with J.C. Miller (William Stout, San Francisco: 2006). The book is a close and careful analysis of the parks designed by landscape architect Robert Royston in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, and provides both an important history of American suburban parks and a primer for today’s landscape architects and urban planners, as well as all those involved in the creation of public spaces.
