In 1939, the New York architect Chester A. Patterson designed the Venezuelan Embassy to signify that the United States had established diplomatic relations with Venezuela. The residence and chancery at 2443 Massachusetts Avenue are the first to be built by a Latin American country in Washington D.C. The complex departs from the favored style of Embassy row with its use of white stucco and elements of Venezuelan architecture.

The Embassy of the Republic of Zambia at 2419 Massachusetts Avenue is notable for its extensive floorplan, large site, and rapid turnover of occupants. After it was built for the Honorable L. A. Coolidge in 1900, the building changed leases many t imes until the newly created Zambian nation bought it for use as their embassy in 1970.
