This includes:Through contracts with vendors, the University and the School of Architecture are able to make certain software available FREE or at significantly reduced prices to students and faculty registered in its programs. These software programs may be installed on a personal computer, whether it is in the school (laptop/studio) or at home. Some licenses are timed and must be renewed.
UVA ITC makes general purpose software available to anyone in the university. This includes:
· Email clients
· Anti-Virus protection
· Operating System updates and security
· many other utilities
All of this can be found at ITC's Software Central.
The University holds a Campus Agreement with Microsoft that includes Microsoft Offic for both Windows and Macintosh, and the and Microsoft Windows Operating System. Students can get a copy of Office and Windows for their personal computers under this agreement for $10 each.
