| Urban Design: Landscape Urbanism and Environmental Infrastructure The multi-disciplinary College of Architecture is seeking candidates to fill two tenure-track positions. The faculty is seeking motivated, energetic individuals who desire to be a part of a growing collaborative design/research school within a land-grant institution. The College grants pre-professional Bachelor of Science in Design degrees in landscape architecture and architecture, professional Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Master of Community and Regional Planning and Master of Architecture degrees along with post professional MS and PhD degrees. Collectively faculty from programs of Landscape Architecture, Community and Regional Planning, Architecture, and Interior Design form a collaborative teaching and research environment that values cross program initiatives along with active connections to programs outside the College including current teaching and research relationships with the Colleges of Engineering and Agriculture and Natural Resources. All programs are committed to interdisciplinary design excellence and innovation to meet the challenges of stewardship of the natural environment and sustainable design in the built environment. The College also supports its commitment to a global perspective in design education through opportunities for faculty and students to be part of various long running international programs located in London, Ireland, Germany, France, China and a newly developed programs in South and Central America. The specific submission requirements to the College are listed below. Please note materials will not be returned. 1. Urban Design: Bridging between Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Planning (requisition #090552) This position will require Assistant/Associate Professor candidates to teach interdisciplinary design studios where students translate the objectives of urban design regarding space, settlement patterns and cultural influences into physical strategies to guide the work of architects, landscape architects, developers and other professionals. The candidate will also be expected to deliver seminar/lecture courses related to this topic to the same multidisciplinary audience of planning, architecture and landscape architecture students. In addition the successful candidate will be expected to have a related, active research/creative activity agenda including publication and externally funded grants along with participation in the service mission of the University. Candidates must have a professional degree in architecture and a master’s or doctoral degree in Planning, Urban Design, or Landscape Architecture. Applicants with professional practice experience in urban design are preferred. 2. Urban Design: Landscape Urbanism and Environmental Infrastructure (requisition #090553) The Assistant/Associate level candidate will teach interdisciplinary design studio where students plan and design cities that incorporate ecology, landscape architecture and infrastructure into the discourse of urbanism. The candidate will also be expected to deliver seminar/lecture courses related to this topic to the same multidisciplinary audience of landscape architecture, planning, and architecture students. In addition the successful candidate will be expected to have a related, active research/creative activity agenda including publication and externally funded grants along with participation in the service mission of the University. Candidates must hold a terminal professional degree in urban design, architecture, landscape architecture, planning or related fields.
