Headquartered in Richmond, Virginia and with a DC-area office, SDC provides expert project-specific and general consulting on planning, site design, water, energy, materials and indoor environmental quality issues for sustainable design and operations. SDC also provides lectures, workshops and training on a wide range of green building topics. Description:

Provide staff management and project team leadership in SDC’s branch office in the Washington, DC area overseeing administration, H. R. management, green building consulting project and training management, and coordination of office-specific fiscal reporting activities. Develop improvements to existing and new consulting services. Participate in company strategic planning and long term growth plans.
Skills & Qualifications
Requirements:

Must be degreed and experienced in the building industry with an emphasis on sustainable technologies and strategies. Masters preferred in program related to the building industry such as Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management or Facilities Management. Candidate should have a minimum of 20 years overall industry experience and10 years experience specific to project management with substantial staff supervisory and senior level management experience. Plusses include: M.B.A. or strong business background, experience in a consulting firm setting and LEED Professional Accreditation. -Demonstrated success providing leadership and developing all areas of the operation of an organization/branch office
-Ability to develop, manage and retain a professional consulting team
-Ability to prioritize project tasks as needed to maintain continued progression of projects
-Proficiency in green building general concepts, the LEED Rating System and the commercial green building industry
-Proficiency in design and construction documents and sequencing, and experience in all phases of project delivery
-Exceptional building-related technical skills a plus
-High level of multiple types of intelligence
-Exceptional command of information ranging from the day-to-day details to the big picture
-Focused on all aspects of branch office success
-High-energy, with the flexibility to move swiftly between job functions
-Outstanding communication skills
-Comfort with public speaking and ability to appropriately represent office and company to various audiences
-Familiarity with principles of marketing to further SDC’s presence in the marketplace
-Ability to oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the office
