B U I L D is an evolving independent study
venue focused on a design | build experience of learning which forefronts
the tangible demonstration of construction processes. As an evolving work these
design | build projects intend to establish the parameters and pedagogy
for similar work within the curriculum of the graduate and undergraduate architecture
programs at UVA. These projects focus on the detailing of critical junctures and surfaces in concrete and masonry construction. The projects investigate the design and construction opportunities in conventional concrete and masonry construction as a starting point for innovation in form and detail. | |
