Jen Masengarb works at the Danish Architecture Center in Copenhagen. She is helping the institution interpret Copenhagen’s architecture for international visitors at their new OMA-designed center, BLOX - which opens in May 2018. Previously she worked 17 years at the Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF), most recently as the Director of interpretation and research where she educates the public – young and old – about architecture, design, and cities. She served as CAF's subject matter expert and leads the organization's interpretive focus, working across several departments. She is the author of CAF’s three curricular resources – Schoolyards to Skylines: Teaching with Chicago’s Amazing Architecture (elementary), The Architecture Handbook: A Student Guide to Understanding Buildings (high school) and DiscoverDesign.org (high school) – all of which have earned Honor Awards for Collaborative Achievement from the American Institute of Architects (2005, 2009, 2013).
Jen received the A-School Distinguished Alumni Award in 2015 and was a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board from Fall 2016 - 2018.
