Longwood Gardens College Internship Program
Longwood Gardens offers excellent opportunities for students to gain practical experience, learn gardening skills, and study plants amid the world's premier horticulture display. Internships last three to twelve months and individuals specialize in one work area. The program is open to current college students and indiviuals who have graduated within the past year and are leagally able to work in the United States. Students may recieve academic credit through their institutions. A typical 35-hour work week usually includes one half-day of instruction or a field trip with occasional weekend, evening and holiday hours. Interns are paid a taxable stipend. Field trips offer behind the scenes visits to display gardens, nursuries, garden centers, and greenhouses. Interns may attend Continuing Education courses free of charge on a space-availible basis. All interns are required to complete a student project while at Longwood. Living accommodations on the grounds are available free of charge.
