SPA Undergraduate Executive Board
President (2nd Year Grad): The role of the SPA Undergraduate President is to represent undergraduates' needs and concerns to the planning department. The faculty look to this person to ascertain how students are responding to department policies. The position also requires working with the rest of SPA officers which includes many graduate students. The ideal candidate will not be afraid of voicing their opinion to faculty, graduate students, or peers, while at the same time trying to represent the larger undergraduate body. The position is very flexible and the officer can take a more active or passive role in changing department policies. In other words, you can make it what you want. Responsibilities include: Attending all SPA Exec Meetings, SPA General Meetings, Faculty Meetings, and Department Head Meetings (for the most part all occur on a monthly basis). It is a great way to interact personally with faculty and boost your resume.
